Revised in 2024, this Child Care Foundational Training provides foundational knowledge and skills training for individuals as they begin, or consider, a career in caring for children in the infant and toddler age groups. Content includes exploring infant and toddler care within a relationship-based approach with an emphasis on providing learning experiences within caregiving routines and play based experiences. A particular emphasis will be on partnering with families in support of infant and toddler development and on reflecting family practices within infant and toddler settings and practices. This course fulfills introductory noncredit course requirements as specified in the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Chapters 250 and 251 for Family and Group Child Care in Wisconsin's Administrative Code.. *This course is Blended (Online/Virtual) Course. To participate in this course, you must: *Have access to a computer with a reliable internet connection. *Have a working webcam and microphone. *Be able to download, complete, and submit documents via email. *Be available to attend all three required virtual class sessions. *Be fully present and actively engaged throughout each class session. You may not work, drive, care for children, run errands, or participate in any other activity that prevents you from giving your full attention to the class. Students who are unable to actively participate may be removed from the session and required to re-enroll in a future class. Virtual class dates are: August 4, 2026, 5 pm-8:30 pm August 11, 2026, 5 pm-8:30 pm August 18, 2026, 5 pm-8:30 pm Attendance in all 3 virtual sessions is mandatory! You are required to complete online modules, required assignments, and assessments outside of class time.
