About

This 10-module online course equips caregivers, early interventionists, and early childhood educators with evidence-based practices to support the social-emotional development of infants and toddlers. Participants will explore practical strategies in responsive caregiving, emotional regulation, and supporting positive peer interactions in home and classroom environments. Emphasis is placed on family-centered coaching, developmentally appropriate expectations, and inclusive communication strategies. Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: • Apply responsive communication strategies that promote healthy emotional connections. • Model and reinforce social skills during caregiver-child interactions. • Support children in expressing, understanding, and regulating emotions. • Facilitate peer relationships and positive social engagement. • Respond effectively to distress and challenging behaviors using supportive practices. • Communicate developmentally appropriate expectations with empathy. • Create engaging routines and transitions that promote participation and independence. • Integrate visual, verbal, and tactile supports to accommodate diverse communication needs. • Coach and support families in using social-emotional strategies at home. • Build a nurturing, emotionally responsive care environment grounded in the Pyramid Model framework.
